Woodburn to Evans Head Shared Pathway: Works Commencing
Important Update: Shared Pathway Improvement Works Begin in Woodburn
CivilCS Pty Ltd is pleased to announce that construction of the Woodburn to Evans Head Shared Pathway is now underway. Contracted by Richmond Valley Council, our team began works in October 2025, with completion of the pathway expected by mid to late 2026.
About the Project
This exciting community infrastructure project involves the construction of a 5.8 km, 2.5 m wide concrete pathway running parallel to the existing roadway — connecting Alfred Street in Woodburn to Riverside Village along the Woodburn to Evans Head Road.
Once complete, the pathway will provide a safer and more accessible route for pedestrians and cyclists, enhancing connectivity between Woodburn and Evans Head.
What to Expect During Construction
- Increased construction vehicle activity in the area
- Temporary changes to usual traffic patterns
- Some noise during standard construction hours
- Visible construction signage and safety barriers
During the course of the works, there will be times when access to certain residential driveways along the alignment will need to be temporarily restricted.
Residents directly affected will be contacted by CivilCS prior to any works taking place, and we’ll do our best to provide alternative entry and exit options wherever possible.
Please note that vehicles will not be permitted to drive over the new concrete sections until the surface has achieved the required strength (usually around 7 days).
Safety and Accessibility
CivilCS will implement comprehensive safety measures during all phases of construction. Pedestrian safety remains a top priority, and alternative routes will be clearly marked where necessary. All work will be conducted within approved hours to minimize disruption to residents.
Community Communication
We are committed to maintaining open communication with local residents and the wider community throughout the project.
Our site depot will be located off Alfred Street in Woodburn, and both Brett and our project team will be available onsite for any discussions or concerns during construction.
